This tranquil winter scene, blanketed with snow, was painted on a cold and blustery winter's day. The colours are all cool, reflecting a day gripped by winter. But ever so quietly and subtlety, on the lower right hand side of the field, is a hint of soft sunlight, warming the snow, beginning the inevitable melt, as spring is just around the corner.
